The Importance of Self Awareness

…For a moment, mind fullness was pushing me to be a hearer of the word and not a doer of the word…

1 Timothy 4:16 - Keep a close watch on yourself and on the teaching. Persist in this, for by so doing you will save both yourself and your hearers.

2 Corinthians 13:5 - Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test!

1 Corinthians 13:12 - For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.

Ephesians 4:22-24 - To put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

Romans 12:2 - Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

I had to make the decision that I would become self-aware. Self-aware of self-sabotaging ways, self-aware of my patterns both destructive and productive.

I would stop just living life on the defensive. It was tiring. It took a lot of time and energy. Instead of living on the defensive, I started to seek God on how to live life offensively .

I want to really pinpoint and give a shout out to self-awareness.

Without it, there would be no way for me to intervene - no way for Holy Spirit to intervene on my behalf against the negative tendencies and destructive patterns.

For reference, the definition of self-aware(ness) is having a conscious knowledge of ones own character, feelings, motives and desires.

If I didn’t already clarify, my self-awareness comes from and is the Holy Spirit - self awareness comes from and is the Holy Spirit.

And you see, the feelings, motives, character and desires of my flesh never have and won’t ever align with the feelings, motives, character and desires of my spirit man - who is directly connected to Holy Spirit. I like to think they’re one in the same.

When my mind is full, I find that it is very difficult for me to be in complete alignment with the goals of my Spirit man.

This is why we have to see mindfulness (one word) through the meditation on God’s word, sitting in this presence and taking time out of our day, everyday, to spend time with Him.

If you’ve been with me for a minute, this is apart of the wealth mindset.

None of this would be possible without my partnership with the Lord. My mind would literally be too full to even articulate this to you.
