Essential Systems You Need ASAP In Your Service Business

Let’s talk systems.

In the words of Benjamin Franklin, “Watch the little things; a small leak will sink a great ship”.

What’re your thoughts on this quote? Does it have you thinking? Do you realize how a small leak can seriously hinder, stagnate, and sink a great ship?

Take a few moments to ask yourself these questions:

  • What do things look like for my customer / client once they pay me?

  • If social media were to shut down today, do I have a way to stay in contact with current, past or future clients?

  • What are things like when it comes to my business’ backend (AKA the part other people will never see)?

I could ask so many other questions, but the answers to these questions should be an eye opener for you that its either time to continue on and build or reevaluate and implement the basic, yet essential, systems we’re about to discuss below.

Systems are a vital part to staying afloat for years to come in business.

Don’t worry, I’m not going to overwhelm you with all the systems that are useful to service-based businesses, but I am going to give you the essentials - the ones you just should not be functioning with out!

Let’s get into it..

  1. CRM or Customer Relationship Management System

    • The key word here is relationship and we want to be able to cultivate relationships with potential clients and customers and we want to continue to nurture our relationship with current clients and customers.

    • So some examples of CRMs would be mail chimp or ConvertKit where they focus primarily on housing client information like their emails and phone numbers and when and why they subscribed to your community as well as landing pages where you may have potential clients come to sign up for your freebie or get on your waitlist for your new program or course this coming out. From these platforms you can stay in contact with current and potential clients.

  2. Scheduling Software

    • This is very straight to the point. You need scheduling software to schedule time to meet with current clients as well as to get on discovery calls potential clients or strategy sessions with 1-time paying clients.

    • A scheduling system is so important because it will keep your back end organized and it will make it an easy decision to go ahead and book with you for those potential clients.

    • My favorite is Acuity Scheduling but there are so many you can choose from

  3. Payment System… AKA somewhere to collect your coins 💰

    • The point in a business is to not only make impact but to also make money so you need somewhere for your clients to enter their card information in a fast and secure way.

    • Cashapp is not an option here.

    • So options for you would be through the CRM system you use, for example I use Simplero and it really is an all in one platform. Theres stripe, square, and PayPal.

    • We are not going to keep running our businesses like side hustles in 2021 so Zelle and Cashapp are OUT and a legitimate payment processing system is IN.

Now that I’ve given the basics, go implement and master them so that when the time comes you are ready to scale and implement next steps so that you can continue to emerge in your business to new level after new level.
